Magnetic strip is placed at the back of credit card help to verify the originality of credit card, which is used by credit card machine. It is decoded by infrared rays when strike they display some code which is being read by Credit Card Machine and it verify and get the number and name of the credit card owner.
There are also some security works done on the credit card such as signature panel, embossed characters, CVV or verification number etc. They all get by credit card machine and just a one strip passed it catches all and verify the credit card in milliseconds. When you are done, it will print a slip for shopkeeper for the bank and one for you. Shopkeeper/ bank slip uses your signature to verify the customer transaction done by the credit card.
